Polson 2009
We arrived in Polson, well Ronan, on Thursday night and cleaned up the boat for a Friday morning display at the Jore Corporation. Jore is a manufacturer of drill bits and accessories and has North and South Buildings at their site in Ronan.
The North Building covers over 5 acres and houses most of the manufacturing. We were there to help market their Montana Brand tools and Rocky Mountain Twist, line of drill bits. Jore Provided us a building to reinstall our engine and test prior to the race the next day.
We also made a stop by Pappa Don's Grill. An excellent repeat sponsor of ours in Polson. Thanks Don!!
All looked good. After or disapointing showing in Chamberlain the week before, we were pleased to see the boat get on plane. We almost got a start when the race course got black flagged after another boat drifted onto the course at the start/finish line. During the restart we we're running strong, but when a prop blade broke, we tore out the transom of the boat and almost sank.
We recruited Dan McCullough, a new driver to ULHRA, renumbered his UL-58 to the UL-11 and placed all our sponsors on his boat. Dan did a great job on his first appearance.
